There will be no computer picks for about a week...I need new stats for about a week before the computer can make picks again after the break.
But we will have the RL Chasers...and the new Home Chasers.
RL Chase
RL Chasers are basically the best baseball teams that are on the road against the worst teams when they are at home. We used to do 3 game chases...if necessary...but I've realized that is too much risk. We need to make it a two game chase max. How do we do that?
We will tighten up what qualifies as a chase...the away favorite must now lose the first game of the series first...before we chase the last 2 games on the RL. In theory...the home dog may have a good chance to win the first game because the away fave has to travel...so it works out pretty good that way. This will disqualify a LOT of the chases. But thats ok...we only want the best ones anyway...and we will have a lot more opportunities with the new home chase system.
Possible RL Chasers for the next series of games...
Cubs @ Houston
It's a 3 game series...and we only play 3 game series. If the Cubs lose the first game on Friday July 18...we will then chase them on the RL for the last 2 games of the series. Max chase 2 games.
========================================
Home Chase *
Home Chasers are kind of the opposite of the RL chase. Home teams with good home records (>.500 and 5-5 or better in last 10)against teams with (.500 or less road records).
If the home team loses the first game in a 3 game series...we will then chase the home team on the ML to win one unit. Max chase 2 games.
Possible Home Chasers for the next series of games ...
Oakland @ NY Yankees
Texas @ Minnesota
Dodgers @ Arizona
Washington @ Atlanta
* The Home Chase is not my system, it comes from a poster at the Fox Den named Hookem 22 and is being run over there by Houston Fan. Kudo's to them for the inspiration. I might make small changes to it...but it's not my idea. It also served as a model for my RL Chasers.
This is their record so far with the Home Chase system...Good stuff!
Chase record at the All Star Break -
Record 54-4
Unit Record + 41.12 units
If this works out...I will combine both systems into a Super Chase system next year...in addition to the computer picks. I hope that gives us two powerful systems for a lot of baseball picks throughout the whole season.
